Mamasita's Story

Mamasita, a rescued Chiahuahua, came to Village Park Animal Hospital for help in
losing the extra ten pounds she had put on since her rescue. To put it bluntly, Mama
weighed the equivalent of two Chihuahuas, and her health was in serious danger.
The teams at Village Park Animal Hospital and AquaPaws put Mamasita in "Fat Camp."
Her diet was strictly controlled - she was put on 1/4 cup of Restricted Calorie food twice
a day and was not allowed any treats. Our team walked her at least twice a day, and
she exercised on the underwater treadmill three times a week.

Over the course of three months, Mamasita's energy level skyrocketed. She was
running across the room, playful, excited to get walking, and a lovable friend to the
Village Park team. Down to a healthy weight at last, Mama was ready for a new home.
Today, Mamasita is living with her new owner, Tina, and her Chiahuahua sister, Lola.
She is know by Ruby (all though we love to call her Ruby-sita!) and is loving her new,
healthy life!
